Chairman Decker makes 2011 committee appointments
NORWICH – Chenango County Board of Supervisors Chairman Richard B. Decker, R-N. Norwich, made standing committee and subcommittee appointments for 2011.
The Public Works Committee, the largest of the county’s seven standing committees with eight members as opposed to six, saw the most flux for the coming year.
City of Norwich Supervisor Linda E. Natoli, a Republican, will no longer serve as chairperson nor a member of Public Works. City of Norwich’s James J. McNeil, a Democrat, and Smyrna Supervisor James Bays, also a Democrat, were also removed from the committee. Public Works will instead be directed by John Phelan, R–Coventry. Jerry Kreiner, R–Plymouth, was appointed a new member.
Incoming Columbus Supervisor Pamela Weidman was appointed a member of Personnel and Public Works committees.
Incoming Sherburne Supervisor Charles Mastro was assigned to Safety and Rules and Agriculture, Buildings and Grounds committees.
Supervisor McNeil was appointed to Safety and Rules, replacing Kreiner, who was removed.
On the Health and Human Safety Committee, Natoli switched seats with Iannello, who joined Personnel.
And on Planning and Economic Development, Bays took a seat vacated by Phelan.
Members of the Finance Committee remains unchanged, with Lawrence Wilcox, R–Oxford, serving as chairman for a sixth year.
Decker made the following additional appointments: RC Woodford, administrator, self insurance plan; Dr. Warren Liddell, advisory veterinarian; William Craine, Airport Steering Committee; Ruth Roberts, Alternatives to Incarceration Advisory Board; Linda Natoli and David Law, Capital Projects Improvement Committee, East & West Side Parks; Wayne Outwater, Chaplain of the Board; Peter Flanagan and Ross Iannello, Chenango County Cooperative Extension; Sheriff Ernest Cutting, Criminal Justice Advisory Board; Joseph Coe, Director of Veteran Service Agency; George Seneck, jury board; George Seneck, law library board; and Robert Briggs and Allan Johnson, Soil & Water Conservation District.
All one year terms, expiring Dec. 31, 2011.
