Hanna to join President Obama at GE today

NORWICH – Unison Industries Product Line Manager Michael Weaver said U.S. Representative Richard Hanna’s visit to the General Electric plant in Schenectady today is positive for New York and shows the Congressman’s dedication to growing jobs.
President Barack Obama invited Hanna to join him aboard Air Force One for the trip to GE Energy. Hanna will be seated in the audience for the President’s remarks.
“It’s good to see the Congressman involved in the President’s acknowledgment of GE’s leadership in environmentally friendly jobs creation,” said Weaver yesterday.
The Norwich-based branch of Unison Industries, Inc. is a division of General Electric. The company designs and manufactures electrical and mechanical systems for aircraft engines and airframes for space, defense, industrial, general aviation and commercial aviation. Weaver said the GE Schenectady plant manufactures components for industrial power generation.
The White House said yesterday that the President “will make remarks on the importance of growing the economy and making America more competitive by investing in jobs, innovation and clean energy.”
Hanna said he is was honored to join the President.
“It is with great pride that I welcome President Obama back to upstate New York. He will see the residents, workforce and business leaders of the Empire State are ready to lead the nation in rebuilding our economy,” he said.
