Greene races to impressive road victory

Greene 58, Windsor 44
WINDSOR – Coming off one of its more flat performances at Delhi last week, Greene returned to the hardwood floor with one of its best games of the season.
“This game was huge for us, and we wanted to be playing well going into the Oxford game Saturday night,” said Greene coach Rick Smith. “We needed to go in there and get a good jump on them. We came out with a lot of energy, took the ball to the basket, and played good defense.”
Isaiah Webb scored 11 of his 12 points in the opening two quarters as Greene led 34-24. Webb and teammate Sam Adams also shared defensive duties on Windsor’s top big man, Garrett Gaeta. Gaeta was limited to just 10 points, and the Greene inside duo’s rebounding helped kick-start the Trojans’ atack. “We were rebounding well out of our man-to-man defense, and when we play man well, we run well,” Smith said. “I think we tired Windsor out in the first half pushing the ball.”
Adams provided most of the Trojans’ scoring in the second half downing 15 of his 23 points. Webb completed his night with nine rebounds and 12 points. Evan Moxley provided eight points and six steals.
