Mohawk 61, Sherburne-Earlville 57
SHERBURNE – Mohawk avenged a loss to Sherburne-Earlville last weekend, and ended the Marauders’ Center State Conference Division II title hopes.
Trailing the Marauders 29-27 midway through the third quarter, Mohawk used a 14-1 run to take an 11-point lead, one that allowed the visiting team to prevail.
“We were getting good shots, we just didn’t make ours, and Mohawk’s players made theirs,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “We struggled with their dribble penetration in the first half, but I felt we shored that up in the second half. I guess our defensive rotations were not as quick as they should have been. Ultimately, that stretch in the third quarter is what cost us the game.”
