Chenango Memorial Hospital welcomes GI practice
NORWICH – UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that members of Binghamton Gastroenterology Associates’ staff will begin seeing patients and performing procedures at Chenango Memorial beginning Monday, March 7.
Dr. Michael Trevisani, Vice President Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, made the announcement, stating, “We are delighted to be able to work closely with the physicians and staff at Binghamton Gastroenterology Associates (BGA) to deliver excellent diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the digestive tract. This is a service that area residents have been seeking and the clinicians at BGA will offer office visits and procedures right here at our local hospital.” It is particularly appropriate that the practice is beginning this new service in March, since March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the time when health care providers and educators make a special effort to ensure that people are taking care of their colorectal screening needs at the appropriate times and intervals. Colorectal health is a primary concern of the experts at BGA and they will perform colonoscopies as well as other procedures at UHS Chenango Memorial.
These gastroenterologists combine expert clinical care with the latest medical technologies. Some of the many conditions they treat include:
• Cancers of the digestive tract, particularly colon cancer
• Chronic abdominal pain
• Chronic constipation
• Chronic diarrheal disorders
• Crohn’s disease
• Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Liver and biliary diseases
• Peptic ulcer disease
• Swallowing disorders
• Ulcerative colitis
• Diverticulosis
• Pancreatitis
• Gallstones
• Esophageal motility
• Esophageal dilation
• Irritable Bowel syndrome
