DVD Patrol
Hello, all you Happy Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is here making everyone with this and that. The guy with all the joy, the Toddster, is spreading the movie love that everyone likes to hear about. We hope everyone enjoyed our Whoopi Goldberg special and an all new one is coming up in the coming weeks. Here we go with a new one and see if there is anything you like.
New on DVD
The Next Three Days - It’s amazing what someone will do in the name of Justice. Justice also makes one’s love for family even more special. John Brennan (Russell Crowe) was a Professor with a successful college career living with his wife Lara (Elizabeth Banks) and their kids. Lara gets arrested for a crime she claims she didn’t commit. Now John will do everything he can to find a way to get his wife released from jail. Some time later, after the last appeal is rejected, Lara is not sure if she can continue. Now the only way to save her is to get her out of jail. John tries to find Damon Pennington (Liam Neeson) who has broken out of jail and needs to find a full proof plan to save his lady love. Will John be successful? Some terrific movies from the Patrol vaults starring Crowe include “Robin Hood,” “State of Play,” and “A Beautiful Mind.”
Morning Glory - No one said that starting a new job would be easy. Just ask Becky (Rachel McAdams). Becky has been given the task of trying to save a morning show on the verge of being cancelled. Now all she has to is keep Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton) and Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford) to work together without killing each other first. No one said show business was easy. Will Becky make things work for everyone? My sources tell me that Ford is planning to do a fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” series. Stay Tuned!

Faster - Losing someone close provides someone with a need for revenge. Driver (Dwayne Johnson) went to jail when he was caught 10 years ago as part of a robbery attempt. In the process, Driver’s brother was shot and killed. Now getting out of jail, Driver only wants to find the ones responsible. His quest for justice might get a bit complicated when a cop (Billy Bob Thornton) about to retire gets on his trail. Also, a hitman (Oliver J Cohen) has been hired to take Driver down. Who will get to Driver first or is Driver going to be able to get his final revenge? Johnson is getting ready to return to his Wrestling roots as he’s getting ready to host “Wrestlemania 27” on April 5 and he will also be joining Vin Diesel and Paul Walker for “Fast Five” coming to theaters April 29.
Love and Other Drugs - It might seem like magic when you find that special someone. Jamie (Jake Gyllenhaal) was an up and coming hotshot working in the drug industry. He had his pick of any woman he laid his eyes on. Until he met Maggie (Anne Hathaway). Jamie thought Maggie would be an easy girl to charm. Boy, was he wrong. As the chase gets more fun, Jamie starts to realize that Maggie might be the right woman for him. Maggie starts to like the chase too. Can Jamie and Maggie get together? Coming off her Oscar gig, Hathaway has been cast to play the next Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises” set for release next Summer.

I Am Number Four - Everyone comes into the world a certain way but John (Alex Pettyfer) came in his own way. John has always known he’s been a little different but he enjoys all the same things a lot of kids do too. Accompanied by his bodyguard Henry (Timothy Olyphant), he has to start over with an all new name, make new friends, and all new challenges. Those challenges don’t usually include being on the run from enemies from your home planet. Now he has to stand up for his new home and his new life as he tries to master his new powers. Will he be able to in time to protect the ones he has come to know ?
The Toddster’s Take - A lot of people could probably call this one a bit “Smallvillish.” (Hey, a new word for Webster) From the creators of “Smallville” and “Buffy, The Vampire Slayer,” I wouldn’t call this one predictable but I would say it’s entertaining. Pettyfer was great in his role and Olyphant as his guardian was enjoyable in his own right. The movie really didn’t really get too bogged down with too much backstory but let you in on just enough to get going. A fun escape. Catch it!
I hope we able to raise everyone’s spirits this week. A review for Matt Damon’s “The Adjustment Bureau” will be coming in the next couple of weeks. March is shaping up to be a busy month so stay with us more movies and news for you. The Toddster will be around next week.
