Tuesday is Ag Day in Chenango County
COVENTRY – Agriculture’s role in American life will be the focus of activities on Tuesday, as the country celebrates National Agriculture Day. This year marks the 38th annual observance of the day, designed to recognize and celebrate the agriculture industry and the men and women involved with it for their hard work and dedication.
“Every American should understand how food, fiber and renewable resource products are produced and should value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy, providing safe, abundant and affordable products, a source of renewable energy and a world of job opportunities,” said Chenango County Farm Bureau President Bradd Vickers.
The CCFB will mark the occasion with a luncheon Tuesday at The Silo Restaurant, 203 Moran Road in Coventry. The event will kick off at 11 a.m., and focus on the theme, “Agriculture is Amazing.” One of those “amazing” aspects, according to Vickers, is the diversity of the agriculture industry - including the variety of food, fiber and fuel produced; careers; technology and methods used; and the energy produced.
