Chase gardeners get spring fever
NEW BERLIN – For more than ten years, residents, staff and volunteers at Chase Memorial Nursing Home have been coming together each week to share their gardening interests.
For Chase staff member and horticulturist Annette MacLeod, this time of the year can be the most exciting as the cold winter months grudgingly give way to the spring thaw and a new growing season.
Despite the cold weather, MacLeod and more than a dozen members of Chase’s Can You Dig It gardening club have met each week in the home’s sunroom where they care for a large variety of inside plants and prepare for nicer weather.
