Tallet repeats as Greene Bowlodrome scratch house champion
GREENE – For the second straight year, Dan Tallett won the Greene Bowlodrome scratch house championship. Last Saturday, Tallet finished his championship with a 279-267 victory over Jim Shoemaker in a high-scoring final game.
Twelve scratch bowlers participated in the tournament, and after four games the top five qualifiers were Tallett, 945, Jim Shoemaker, 892, Kevin Cummings, 875, Gale Clinton, 873 and Carl Pratt, Jr., 843.
A TV-tournament-style roll-off saw Clinton beat Pratt, Jr., 268-189, before falling to Cummings, 214-168. Shoemaker then beat Cummings, 216-170, to reach the championship match. The title came down to the tenth frame where Tallett prevailed.
