United Way announces 2011 allocations
NORWICH – The Chenango United Way has announced its 2011 Community Impact Allocations, with a total of $355,422 going out to a number of organizations, programs and agencies.
A group of 28 community volunteers reviewed each of the 24 applications, and approved funding to all but three, according to Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco.
In 2011, the United Way remained nationally focused on three areas: income, education and health. Locally, access to healthcare, opportunities for children and youth, an aging population and financial stability and self-sufficiency remained specific areas of focus.
The United Way of America will assess how local United Ways have progressed toward those national goals in 2018, added Monaco.
