S-E boys win track meet

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville’s boys swept its dual meet track and field matchups with Sauquoit Valley and Oriskany Wednesday in wet conditions. The Marauders beat SV, 73-59; and routed an undermanned Oriskany team, 106-17.
The Marauders finished with wins in 10 of 16 events contested with first-year sprinter Greg DuVall posting three total wins including the 100-meter dash in 11.9. Brennan Bennett added two individual wins tying teammate Steve White for first in the long jump (17-4), then winning the triple jump (36-1).
S-E girls, in a four-way team-scoring meet with SV, Oriskany, and Hamilton, placed second behind Sauquoit Valley. Veteran distance runner, Sopheia Eddy, won the 3,000 meters in 11:41.6.
