Accused burglar on $200,000 bail released Monday

NORWICH –An accused burglar sent to jail on $200,000 bail after he failed to appear for drug testing and counseling was released without any bail at all in Chenango County Court Monday.

Twenty-year-old Bryant B. Swingle of Guilford is facing two separate felony indictments in county court.

He was indicted in June for third degree burglary, a Class D felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. According to the indictment, Swingle entered a garage in the Town of Oxford and stole a 12-gauge shotgun, between Sept. 24 and 29, 2009.

He was also indicted again in September, accused of entering a home with a co-conspirator Aug. 23 along Gospel Hill Road in the Town of Guilford.
