S-E’s Odyssey of The Mind team to showcase award winning solution
SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville Middle School Odyssey of the Mind team will present their award winning skit at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 9 in the high school auditorium.
The approximately eight-minute presentation involves seven students. It follows ‘Meet the Candidates Night,’ which begins at 5 p.m. and precedes the school district’s board of education meeting and public hearing of the proposed budget.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.
Later in May, the S-E team is going to the 32nd Odyssey of the Mind World Finals competition at the University of Maryland, something that has become a tradition at the middle school having won the opportunity to do so now for the ninth year in a row. The team will present their solution to a problem that was sponsored by NASA.
