NORWICH – The First Baptist Church of Norwich will officially welcome new Pastor David Speigel during installation ceremonies scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church located at 10 Park Place.

The service is open to the public and people of all faiths. Pastor Speigel fills an opening left by Rev. Susan Panie-Palusi who took a pastorship in Lowell, Mass. in 2008. Rev. Jim Horton, secretary for this region of American Baptist Churches for New York, was interim pastor.

Previously, Pastor Speigel led the Fellowship Baptist Church in West Windsor, N.J. for 11 1/2 years. A native of New Jersey, he received his master of divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wynnewood, Penn. He was ordained in the American Baptist Churches of the United States of America.
