Seward and officials to review area flood damage

PLYMOUTH – State Senator James L. Seward (R/I/C – Oneonta) along with federal, state and local officials will visit flood damaged areas Friday afternoon.
They will review the breaching of the Chenango River at Sherburne, the Canasawacta Creek and Fish Habitat Restoration Project in Plymouth, which occurred during flash flooding April 28.
The storms caused widespread flood damage and spawned an EF2 tornado in Pharsalia and a EF1 tornado in Columbus.
The weather prompted the Chenango County Board of Supervisors to issue a state of emergency and schools in the county closed.
