DVD Patrol
It’s that time again, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is here in full DVD mode this week as we’ve got some brand new DVDs this week for everybody. Your Man on the Street, the Toddster, has been searching out some more good movies for you. I’ve come back to from the theater but I’ll be doing a review for the Pirates movie coming soon. What do you say we take a look?
New on DVD
The Mechanic - Finding the right mechanic for the right job is never easy. Of course, it always depends on what the job is. For Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham), his job is a bit more complicated. Bishop is really a hit man and has a very particular way of working. The people he works for want him to take down his old mentor Harry (Donald Sutherland) after messing up a job. Bishop is only told what he’s needed to know and after he finds out that Harry is the target, he has no choice. Some time later, Harry’s son Steve (Ben Foster) come back to find out who the killer and wants to break into the mechanic business. Bishop finds himself torn between taking care of the kid and keeping a secret. Can Bishop find a way to work out what he needs to do? Statham is currently finishing up filming a new movie with Robert Deniro and will be released some time later this year.
The Roommate - Going off to college opens up an all new door for another chapter in life to begin. For Sara (Minka Kelly), that couldn’t be more real. She’s scared and she has had a relationship just go bad. She might have found a new friend in the form of Rebecca (Leighton Meester). At first, things seem great between the two new found friends. They find they have a lot in common including interests in Art, Fashion, and possibly even Men. Strange events begin to happen where Sara begins to question that her friendship with Rebecca may have more bumps in the road and a roadblock may be ahead. Rebecca may seem a little needy and doesn’t like to share. Will they find a way to work it out or is the relationship headed in the other direction? From the creators of “Smallville,” Kelly has just been cast in a new version of ”Charlie’s Angels” and has just been picked up by ABC to air in the Fall.

The Bionic Woman - Season 2 has come to DVD for the first time with an old favorite of the Toddsters. In the Season 2 opener, Jaime Sommers (Lindsay Wagner) is still getting used to life being a school teacher and a super agent for the OSI. Jaime has come to see her old friend Steve Austin (Lee Majors) who is working on a case involving a bunch of thefts that may have been committed by Bigfoot. Not everyone believes Steve and Jaime starts to have her doubts. After Steve is critically injured in a fight with Bigfoot, Jaime goes in search of the people who created the creature to save Steve and her World. Is Jaime going to be successful? Season 3 will be available later this year and Season 1 is now available in stores on DVD.
Thor: Tales of Asgard - Cartoon Spotlight has a new one just for you. All heroes have to get their start somewhere. Before Thor would embrace his destiny as a hero defending the people of the Earth, he was growing up in his homeland of Asgard being guided by his Father Odin in the ways of the World as well as becoming a warrior. Overwhelming forces begin to come down on Asgard and the only way of helping might be to find an ancient relic that could tip the balance in their favor. With the help of Loki and the Warriors Three, Thor goes in search of the Lost Sword of Surtur. Are Thor and his friends going to be able to win the day? Catch the next Marvel movie in theaters “Captain America: The First Avenger” coming July 22. Als Some other Marvel animated movies that are available include “Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2,” “Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow,” and “The Invincible Iron Man.”
No Strings Attached - Friendship has a knack of changing over the years. For Adam (Ashton Kutcher) and Emma (Natalie Portman), the years have a funny effect on them. They first met at Summer Camp and Adam was interested in her. Emma quickly took him down a peg. As time went on, they pursued their own relationships with other people but as fate would have it, they found each other together. Emma wanted to try something different to have all the benefits of being together without all the headaches that they bring. Adam decides he likes the idea and wants to give it a try. The longer they go on this way, they start to develop actual feelings for one another. Will they finally realize that they are the right fit for one another? Portman is about to become a new mom but is currently in the new movie “Thor.” Kutcher has also been cast to replace Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men” On CBS and will be begin airing in the Fall.
