BID kicks things off with Cruise-In tonight
NORWICH – Memorial Day weekend will kick off in style with the BID’s 10th annual Cruise-In, from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. Even with the renovations currently underway in East Park, the event will still take place in its customary location in the center of the city.
According to BID Executive Director Pegi LoPresti, the Cruise-In is a perfect way for car and motorcycle enthusiasts to jump-start what’s become an automotive tradition in Norwich and Chenango County, with Saturday and Sunday’s Rolling Antiquers Auto Show and Flea Market as the main event.
The BID – in conjunction with Nina’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, the Norwich Merchants Association, the Pennysaver, Service Pharmacy, Christman’s Motor Sales, Reynold’s To Go and The Evening Sun – will award three random Cruise-In participants with a cash prize of $50, $25 or $10. LoPresti wished to remind people that the cash giveaway is not a judged competition and that all those who enter have a chance to win.
“The Cruise-In is always well attended and we’d like to invite the greater Norwich community down to the park, whether it’s for a casual stroll or simply to enjoy the entertainment,” said LoPresti. “We’d also like to thank Frontier Communications for their cooperation and we appreciate their assistance year after year for this family friendly, fun event.”
The Cruise-In will go on rain or shine, DJ Dick Talbot will provide the entertainment and there is no cost of admission for the event.
