Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash
COLUMBUS – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision in Columbus Saturday evening, according to New York State Police.
At approximately 5:43 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich investigated a motorcycle/truck motor vehicle collision which occurred on Kelley Road in the Town of Columbus.
Police said Lourraine A. Faucett, 55, Groton, was operating a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck south bound on Kelley Road when she collided head-on with a 2009 Kawasaki 250 cc motorcycle operated by Jayson T. Killian, 31, of Scipio Center, who was traveling north bound on Kelley Road. Killian suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The New York State Police Troop “C” Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted at the scene and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
