Africa University Choir performs at Methodist Church

NORWICH – The Africa University Choir, composed of students from four African countries, will appear in concert at Broad Street Methodist Church on Saturday evening at 7.
This exciting singing group from Zimbabwe is on a 19-day tour to local churches and the Upper New York Annual Conference session. The choir gained a national reputation after providing music for the 1996 General Conference of The United Methodist Church. Students in the choir represent 23 African countries. Each member has worked hard and had to be considered a superior performer in order to be chosen for the tour. Those in attendance will experience a lively concert filled with music representing many African traditions.
The 16-member choir is under the direction of Mr. T. Kuture. The choir will give a lively performance using several African musical traditions.
The Broad Street Methodist Church is one of the few churches to host the choir on their 50-day tour. A freewill offering will be received.
