Chenango County celebrates its #1 industry with Dairy Day Saturday!
NORWICH – The 11th annual Chenango County Dairy Day will be held on Saturday at the Chenango County Fairgounds. The event, organized by Cornell Cooperative Extension, is intended to promote agriculture.
“It’s a day to celebrate Chenango County’s #1 industry – at least in my eyes,” said Rebecca Daubert, agriculture and outreach coordinator. “We provide free family fun and entertainment, and educational activities.”
The day starts off with a parade at 11 a.m. from the Tops parking lot to the fairgrounds.
There, kids and adults can enjoy hands-on activities, as well as educational exhibits. There will be exhibits by the Chenango County Historical Society, Agro Farma of Columbus, Baker’s Maple of Bainbridge and many other organizations.
Stock tub races commence at 1 p.m. Farms and local businesses are encouraged to create a vehicle to race against a stock tub. Teams must have at least three, but no more than five, participants and one member must be ride inside the vehicle.
