Sherburne 9, Hamilton 7
SHERBURNE – Sherburne’s Otsenango Pony League team rallied twice in defeating Hamilton Thursday in the club’s season-opener.
Sherburne scored five times in the bottom of the third to knot the game up. After Hamilton retook the lead in the fourth, Sherburne scored three in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. Jesse Yerton led off the fifth with a single, and he moved to second on Matt Smith’s groundout. Keith Rose’s single up the middle plated Yerton with the tying run. Mick Khoury tripled in Rose with the go-ahead run, and Khoury scored on and RBI double by J.P. Osborne.
Sherburne added insurance in the sixth with Yerton’s triple scored David Sulton.
Kevin Vibbard pitched three innings of the relief giving up just one run to pick up the victory. Sherburne plays at Oxford Monday.

LAURENS – Unadilla Valley opened its Otsenango Pony League season beating Laurens on the road Thursday evening.
Nate Shackelton pitched a complete-game victory striking out 10, walking two, and allowing just two hits.
Providing the offense for UV were Andrew Radke, Brendan Booker, and Mason Alford. All three went 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI. UV plays at Norwich on June 21.
