UV rallies to beat Cooperstown

NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley rallied from a 6-1 deficit to beat Cooperstown, 8-6, Thursday in the Otsenango Pony League.
UV scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to close Cooperstown’s lead to one. Austin Taylor had a two-run double, Will Martin singled in Taylor, and Ryan Postma added a run-scoring single. One inning later, Mason Alford’s single scored Kyle King with the tying run, and Nate Shackleton had a go-ahead RBI single plating Alford. Shackleton stole second, moved to third on a passed ball, and scored an insurance run on Taylor’s sacrifice fly.
Shackleton finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Shackleton and Brendan Brooker combined on the victory with Brooker finishing up the game for the save.
