Local surgeon now board certified in cardiothoracic surgery

NORWICH – Chunjie Yang, MD, a member of the General Surgery practice at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, is now board certified in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.  
Dr. Yang, an experienced, highly skilled surgeon, has practiced at Chenango Memorial since July of 2008, when he moved to Chenango County from Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Tianjin Medical University in Tianjin, China, Dr. Yang completed residencies at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan. As a member of the General Surgery Department at Chenango Memorial, Dr. Yang performs procedures including hernia repairs, appendectomies, colonoscopies, colectomies, endoscopies, gall bladder, thyroid and breast surgeries. His office is in the UHS Surgery and Primary Care suite on the hospital’s first floor.
