Governor declares Probation Week
ALBANY – Governor Cuomo has proclaimed the week of July 17-23 as Probation, Parole, and Community Supervision Week to honor probation and parole officers for their service in a supervisory position and for the work they do in aiding other law enforcement agencies.
To highlight the occasion, Chenango County Probation Department Director Laureen Clarke provided numerous statisics yesterday to members of the county government’s safety and rules committee.
Between November of 2009 and Oct. 2010, law enforcement agencies in Chenango County collected DNA samples from 92 individuals and had a 100 percent collection rate. She also cited 32 sex offenders being supervised, and 42 cases of ignition interlock between January and June of this year.
