Otselic Valley School District officially re-named

OTSELIC – Legislation officially changing the name of the Georgetown-South Otselic School District to the Otselic Valley School District has been signed into law, according to the office of Senator James L. Seward.
“This legislation formalizes the legal name of the Otselic Valley Central School District at Georgetown-South Otselic and comes at the request of the school,” said Senator Seward in a July 20 press release. “The change will allow the district to employ the commonly used name when filing reports, applying for grants or entering into contracts.”
The bill was passed unanimously in the state senate on April 18 of this year. Companion legislation was also approved unanimously by the state assembly on June 13. It was signed into law by Governor Cuomo on July 18.
