Tea Party Patriots host meeting Saturday

NORWICH – For the first time in the history of this nation, because the Constitution cannot defend itself, a non-political Constitution Lobby has been formed - of the People, by the People, and for the People - solely for the purpose of holding elected officials accountable to the New York State and Federal Constitutions, the City Charters and the rule of law. While others typically lobby for or against a variety of political issues, this is the first time a non-political lobby has formed to defend the state’s governing documents on purely legal, not political, grounds.
Incorporators of “We The People of New York, Inc,” Robert Schulz, a prominent Constitutional activist, and Judith Whitmore will visit Norwich on Saturday to give a dedication and presentation. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Guernsey Memorial Library, 3 Court St. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Gilda Ward, a coordinator of the Norwich Tea Party Patriots, says this is an opportunity to learn about this new organization. Norwich Tea Party Patriots is the host for the event.
Incorporators seek to organize a large number of ordinary people from all across the state into a massive Constitution Lobby for Liberty – to be a more formidable force than all the lobbies and unions now in New York – which will keep a permanent watchful eye on what government is doing at every level. Incorporators seek 5% of New York’s population or 800,000 citizens to become members. The plan includes the establishment of 1,240 “Constitution Monitors,” – local citizens in cities and towns across the State with a “passion for Liberty” - who will be trained and paid a stipend to scrutinize government meetings and actions. When monitors find official action believed to violate the Constitution(s), they will report that action to the statewide offices of a “Citizens’ Vigilance Center,” to be permanently established in or around Albany. Constitutional attorneys will review the action and take any and all appropriate legal steps to correct the violation.
Connecticut has also formed a Constitution Lobby. Citizens in 16 other states are organizing to do the same. For more information or to join the Lobby in New York, visit www.wethepeopleofny.org.
