SMITHVILLE – A 51-year old Smithville woman was charged with unlawful growing of cannabis after law enforcement officers seized 28 pot plants from her property over the weekend.

According to the New York State Police, Lillian I. Langendoerfer was growing the illegal plants in a basement located under an old foundation on her property on Waldon Road in the Town of Smithville. A New York State Trooper saw the plants when he responded to the property in relation to another incident.
