Wyoming woman at fault in afternoon accident on Route 23
SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Police say a Wyoming woman failed to yield the right of way at an Otsego County intersection and caused an accident with a food delivery truck.
According to Trooper Keith Mulawka of the New York State Police, 22 year-old Kristin Hloucha of Gillette, Wyoming, was headed north on county Road 18 in the Town of Morris at 2:30 p.m. when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of the county roadway and state Hwy 23, a stone’s throw from the Chenango County line.
Her actions put her red Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in the path of a Maines delivery truck. The tractor trailer’s front bumper made contact with the rear driver’s side of the Jeep, causing the smaller vehicle to roll on an embankment. It came to rest in a ditch a few yards up CR 18, north of the intersection.
