Admissions Day at Morrisville Campus
NORWICH – The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus will hold Admissions Day next Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Roger W. Follet Hall, 20 Conkey Ave.
Admissions Day gives people who are considering enrolling in classes for the fall, but have not yet done so, a last opportunity to, said Marsha Cornelius, Norwich Campus Dean.
“I’ve found I meet people on the street and they say, ‘I want to enroll for the fall, but it’s too late, isn’t it?’” she said. “This gives people who are still on the fence, one more chance to possibly go to school.”
Those interested in enrolling can walk in without an appointment and will be helped on a first come, first serve basis.
Prospective students will be able to do everything in one day, including register for classes and speak with academic and financial aid counselors, Cornelius said, provided they have the proper documents.
Those interested in registering during Admissions Day must bring a High School transcript or GED certificate with scores, college transcripts, if applicable, immunization records, and income information, including a copy of 2010 tax returns and W2 forms.
Prospective students must also fill out an application on site and pay a $50 registration fee, payable by check or money order. Fee waivers are available, depending on income and family size.
Cornelius says the opportunity is important for prospective students whose situation may have changed recently.
“It’s sometimes a change in plans, a last minute decision to go to college or someone who lost their job and is looking at opportunities and updating their skills,” Cornelius said.
