VERONA – Norwich residents Steven Spittler and Tommy Hart won titles at the Turning Stone Casino Races this past weekend in Verona.
Hart , competing on a hand cycle crank bike, won the 13.1-mile race on Sunday. timing 1 hour, 16 minutes, and 49 seconds. Saturday, Spittler, racing among 150 competitors in the 5K race, finished in 17:59 winning by two seconds over Nicholas Ashton of Whitesboro.
Also on Saturday, Carol Hart of Norwich was second in the 5K race-walk. Entered in the 60-69 age group, Hart completed the course in 42 minutes, 11 seconds.
