NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley first-year player Collin Izard had one goal and two assists for the Storm, and Zach Montgomery, Brett Smith, and David Schwab also had tallies in a victory over Afton Wednesday.
“The team looked good today, and it was nice to get goals from first-year players Collin, Zach, and David,” said UV coach Ryan Houck.
UV scored its first two goals in the opening 10 minutes, and led 3-0 at halftime.
Josh Akshar scored for Afton.

OXFORD – Delhi scored the game’s only second-half goal knocking in a shot off a cornerkick with seven minutes left in regulation as the Bulldogs escaped with a win Wednesday.
Oxford played to a 2-2 first-half tie behind two goals from senior Justin Schray. One of Schray’s goals came on a 30-yard direct kick. “We continue to make mental mistakes that cost us games, and the cornerkick could have been avoided,” said Oxford coach Jim Champlin. “We haven’t faced a better team this year, but our record is 1-4.”
Branden McConnell made 10 saves for Oxford, who host the annual Blackhawks Tournament this weekend.

OV’s Jason Olin knotted the game at 1-1 in the first half on a set play near the corner after receiving a pass from Brad Moyer. OV had a crossing pass in front of the goal, but missed a shot with three seconds left in regulation that would have tied the game. “It was a good back-and-forth game, and I felt we had the better of the passing and more opportunities,” said OV coach Justin Barlow. “We just couldn’t get the tying goal.”
