MOUNT MARKHAM – Sherburne-Earlville took command of the game about 15 minutes into the second half scoring two quick goals en route to a road victory over Mount Markham Monday afternoon.
Tied at 1-1, S-E’s Trevor Bays connected on the go-ahead tally off and Bryan Palmer pass, and Carter Cole added much-needed insurance about two minutes later after a pass from Mike Harlost.
S-E used pinpoint passing to grab the 1-0 advantage 10 minutes into the game. Sam Lagoe fired a hard shot into the far post off a Cole pass. Lagoe and Cole exchanged multiple one-touch passes to set up the tally. “That first goal was one of the best I’ve seen here in the last five years,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez.
The Marauders (4-2, 6-2-1) play at Waterville Wednesday at 7 p.m.

NEW BERLIN – Trailing by a goal early, Unadilla Valley strung together four unanswered goals to nail down its third win of the season.
Adam Bauerle found the net for B-G off a turnover at 6:53 before Brett Smith answered for UV two minutes later for the first of his three goals. Smith hit a high-arcing shot that shifted the momentum to the Storm. Smith scored the go-ahead goal on a breakaway just before halftime following a pass from Jared Hanslmaier.
Zach Montgomery and Smith added second half goals for UV. “Zach played a standout game today marking B-G’s top playmaker, Brooks Harmon, and limiting him to just two shots and no goals,” said UV coach Ryan Houck.
Kyle King made eight saves for the Storm (3-7-1).

GREENE – In a matchup of once-beaten division rivals, Unatego handed the Trojans their second Midstate Athletic Conference loss of the season in shutout fashion Monday.
Sarah Mannina scored for the Spartans just over five minutes into the game off a Casey Manzanero pass. That goal would stand up for Unatego, who have just one division loss.
“The game was much closer than the score. It was pretty back forth, but they did a good job capitalizing on the mistakes we made,” said Greene coach Brandy Stone. “We’re not completely out of (the division race). We need to take care of our things, and hope for a little help.”
Greene is at Unadilla Valley today.

NHS’s third doubles team, Taylor Stroh and Steph Elder, earned their first win of the season avenging an earlier loss to the Warriors’ tandem. Jenny Borfitz and Breanna Cashman also avenged an earlier loss to their CV opposition winning in straight sets at first doubles.
“It was a solid win, and we took care of business,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “Considering the time we had off, I was pretty pleased with the way we played.”
Norwich hosts undefeated STAC East division leader Sus Valley today at 4 p.m.
