OXFORD – Unadilla Valley’s Jennifer Elliott scored her team’s second goal of the game 5:09 into the second half. That goal would be enough for the Storm in Thursday’s victory at Oxford.
The Blackhawks (3-4-1), winners of three straight coming into the game, answered Elliott’s goal just 11 seconds later when Julianne Heggie tallied off an Emily Smith pass. “We passed the ball well and controlled it,” said Oxford coach Kathleen Cragle. “I thought we would gain some momentum after our goal, but the second half was pretty even.”
Jordan Anderson had 13 saves for UV, and her play in goal was pinpointed by Cragle as a key to the Storm’s win. Taylor Davis had the first and third goals for the Storm.

COPES CORNERS – G-MU scored the game’s only goal with 12 minutes left in the first half, and the Raiders’ defense, led by goalie Logan Eltz, preserved the shutout.
Miranda Hill beat several Schenevus defenders, and chipped a shot over the Dragons’ keeper for the first-half tally.
G-MU’s Eltz in goal and sweeper Kali Murphy held off the Dragons’ offensive attack throughout the second half, and were large components in the win, said Raiders head coach, Tina Cole. “Logan had the game of her life. She was everywhere with every ball,” Cole said. “Kali had a fantastic game. Those two were a big reason why the game wasn’t a tie or a loss. They kept it out of the box, and their play was phenomenal.”
