Whitman to show artwork in Bainbridge
BAINBRIDGE – The Jericho Arts Council welcomes Norwich artist Deborah Whitman to its Town Hall Gallery on Saturday. This One-Night-Only exhibition is scheduled to coincide with the performance of Goldwing Express in the Town Hall Theater on the same night. The gallery, located on the second floor of the Town Hall Building on Main Street in Bainbridge, will open at 7 p.m. and remain open throughout the evening. Whitman’s exhibit will feature her landscape drawings, a sampling of her Victorian house drawings, coloring books and several sculptures.
Whitman has been sculpting abstract human figures in wood and stone for over 30 years and within the past 10 years she created a series of large, outdoor sculptures in ferro cement. Using her computer aided drafting skills, she illustrated 18 Victorian houses from Broad Street Norwich which then became the subject of her self-published coloring book titled “The Painted Ladies of Norwich, a Coloring Book” which she sells through various businesses in Norwich.
Admission to the gallery is free.
