Milford Academy improves to 9-0

STATEN ISLAND – Milford Academy made it nine straight wins to start the 2011 season beating Wagner College’s junior varsity, 40-16 this past Sunday.
Montrell Dobbs, a University of Connecticut recruit, moved to within six yards of 1,000 for the season rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Ashton Broyld, a Syracuse University commit, had a 20-yard TD pass to Donte Dotson, who is headed to Temple, and Broyld added an eight-yard TD run.
Erich Berzinskas threw a 49-yard TD strike to Purdue recruit Carlos Carvajal, while also tossing a two-point conversion pass to Carvajal.
Jordan Turner and Gerod Holliman (Louisville) buoyed the defense by adding“pick sixes.” Turner returned one interception 40 yards to paydirt, and Holliman’s covered 38 yards. Andre Dixon (University of Pittsburgh) and Javonte added interceptions.
Winners of 20 out of 21 games, the Falcons play at Eric Community College Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. in Buffalo.
