NORWICH – As part of the Hess Cooperation Global Safety Appreciation Day Wednesday, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office provided Safe Child IDs and collected information for New York’s Missing and Exploited Children Program.

The event was held yesterday afternoon at Hess Station at the north end of Norwich. This is the first year the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has visited Hess for its event, said Sheriff Deputy Sheri Howe.

“We have done at least a dozen events throughout the year,” said Howe, “but we have never been here.”
