Oxford man in custody after fleeing authorities

OXFORD – An Oxford man is out on $1,000 cash bail after he allegedly led police on a chase that began in McDonough and continued through four other townships on Saturday.
Authorities have charged 25-year-old Nicholas I. Potter with driving while intoxicated, unlawfully fleeing a police officer – a class E felony – and unlawful possession of marijuana in the alleged crime, which ended without incident in the Village of Oxford.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from New York State Police, Troop C, in Norwich, and the Village of Oxford Police Department.
Potter was arraigned in the Town of Oxford Court, remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility prior to posting bail and will appear in court at a later date.
