Youth football players selected to Offense-Defense All-American Bowl

CHENANGO COUNTY – Four area youth football players were selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, later this month in Texas.
Drew Walsh, Norwich; Brad Beckwith and Jacob Murrer, Oxford; and Austin Jackson, Unadilla Valley, were chosen to participate in the 9-10 age group. Each player attended the Rochester-area camp, and were selected to the team based on their performances in the instructional camp.
Walsh, Beckwith, and Murrer will all make the trip to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington where they will join dozens of peers in their age group nationwide in an East versus West clash.
Walsh played for the Norwich Cyclones this past football season, Beckwith and Murrer were part of Oxford’s youth football team, and Jackson played for the UV youth football league.
In addition, Beckwith’s twin sister, Allison, was chosen to sing the national anthem before each game. More information on the bowl game is available online at www.o-d.com.
