Norwich 98, Susquehanna Valley 86
NORWICH – Norwich finally shook Susquehanna Valley in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing first and second, and closed out the meet with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay to earn its fifth dual meet win of the season Wednesday night.
For the second time this week, Norwich established nine personal-best times. The Tornado showed superior depth over the final six events placing two out of the top three positions in nearly every event.
“I thought it would be a really tough meet,” said Norwich coach Kevin Diefenbacher. “We have a young team, but we showed a lot of maturity to come through at the end.”
Nick Mooney led a one-two finish for Norwich in the 100-yard breaststroke and it was Curtis Woodard, Dan Zieno, Joe Stagliano, and Greg Todd who closed the meet with a season low 3:50.46 in the 400-free relay.
Woodard, Zieno, and Todd added indivdual-event wins, and Scott Cihocki took the 100-yard freestyle. Norwich’s next dual meet is Jan. 6 at Greene.
