6 On The Square to host Louis Mancuso exhibit “Bible Images”
OXFORD – 6 On The Square (6OTS) will be hosting an opening reception for Greene artist Louis Mancuso, entitled “Bible Images,” on Friday, Jan. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will run from Jan. 6 through March 1. The reception is open to the public and free of charge.
The exhibit will feature works from Mancuso’s ongoing project of depicting Bible stories through paintings. His hope is to eventually publish a book of his illustrations. Careful attention has been paid to scripture accuracy, avoiding assumptions and unsubstantiated traditions. See his interpretations of stories such as “David and Goliath” and “The Birth of Christ.”
Louis, a self-taught artist residing in Greene, will be on-hand for the opening reception to talk about his work and answer any questions you may have. Mancuso, a full-time home repair specialist, still makes time to paint, he says, “to keep my spirit active.”
6 On The Square invites you to come for light refreshments at the reception, and join them as we ring in the New Year! 6 On The Square, Inc., a not-for-profit, volunteer-based, community music and arts venue, is located at 6 LaFayette Park in downtown Oxford. For further information, call 843-OTS6 (6876) or visit www.6onthesquare.org.
