Norwich hosts Saints tonight
NORWICH – Norwich had three days to enjoy its Stop DWI title. Tonight, it’s back to the grind of league play for the Tornado (6-1) as they host Seton Catholic Central at Jack Jones Gymnasium.
The Saints are coming off three losses in the national division of the DWI tourney, but entered the tournament with five straight wins over Southern Tier Athletic Conference foes by an average of 26.4 points per game. Of those five victories, only Oneonta (46) eclipsed the 40-point mark.
“To me, Binghamton and Seton Catholic Central are the two best teams in the league,” said Norwich coach Tom Collier. “We’re looking forward to it and it should be a good test for us.”
Tommy Torto, a four-year starter for Seton, leads his team in scoring at just over 15 points per game. Torto has an inside-outside game in which he is a threat to shoot the three, but also take the ball hard to the basket.
