Driver airlifted after morning accident
An early morning motor vehicle accident at the intersection of County Road 38 and Drachler Road in the Town of Guilford resulted in serious injuries to the driver, whose name had not been released as of press time. The driver of the vehicle was airlifted via LifeNet helicopter to the Wilson Medical Center shortly after the accident, which occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m., according to Guilford Fire Department Assistant Chief Ken Haynes. Icy roads are believed to have caused the accident, he added. The Guilford Fire Department was assisted by LifeNet, the New York State Police and Cooperstown Medical Transport.
