Cable company lift truck catches fire in Norwich

NORWICH – A Time Warner truck erupted in flames on Maple Street in Norwich Wednesday, due to an undetermined problem in the engine compartment.

According to Norwich Fire Chief Tracy Chawgo, the call came into the station at 10:19 a.m. and engines were dispatched to the scene.

“We were able to put the fire out very quickly,” said Chawgo, who estimated it only took 10 minutes to get the blaze under control. “The problem was removing the truck from the scene.”
