One transported by helicopter following Tuesday accident

OXFORD – An Oxford man was transported via LifeNet helicopter to the UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City following a two-car motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of State Highway 220 and County Road 35 in the Town of Oxford.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office – assisted by the Oxford Police and Fire departments and Cooperstown Medical Transport – responded to the accident at approximately 3:40 p.m., which shut down traffic for approximately one hour.

Steven D. Allen, 60, of Oxford, is currently being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit at Wilson with undisclosed injuries and his condition was unknown as of press time. The second driver, James A. Dann, 40, of Bainbridge, was uninjured.
