Woodfords help Cornell to Upstate Challenge team title

ITHACA – Cornell University freshmen, Katie and Emily Woodford (Oxford Academy, Oxford) helped the Big Red women claim the Upstate Challenge indoor track and field meet at Barton Hall last weekend.
Katie Woodford won the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.32, and sister Emily was third in the race timing 25.96. Katie Woodford was also fifth in the 60-meter dash clocking 7.82, and Emily Woodford anchored the fifth-place 1,600-meter relay that timed 4:04.74. Emily’s split on the final leg was 57.9 seconds.
Cornell amassed 214 team points to easily outdistance runner-up Buffalo by 64. Syracuse University placed third in the six-team meet.
