Bonnell chosen as SUNYAC field athlete of the week
CORTLAND – Cortland State sophomore Sarah Bonnell (Norwich, Norwich H.S.) was recently chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference indoor field athlete of the week.
Bonnell won the long jump with an ECAC Division III-qualifying distance of 5.43 meters (17 feet, 9 3/4 inches) at the Cortland Winter Invitational. Her distance is the top performance in the SUNYAC this season, and currently ranks her 13th nationally in Division III.
Bonnell also finished second in the 60-meter dash running an ECAC-qualifying 8.10 seconds. She also anchored the second-place 1,600-meter relay that clocked a 4:19.92 at the meet.
