Norwich quartet qualifies for Penn Relays

ITHACA – Norwich’s 1,600-meter relay broke its own indoor track and field school record, and qualified for the Penn Relays, last weekend at Section IV select meet.
John Mooney, Cameron Prime, Nate Ashton, and Matt Murray, timed a 3:36.11, one of three school records broken that evening to place a team-best fourth.
Jamie Zieno (3,200 meters) and Sarah Spittler (1,000 meters) also established new school marks. Zieno lowered the 3,200-meter mark by seven seconds placing sixth in 10:18.79. Spittler was seventh in a new school standard, 3:18.71. Mooney recorded the team’s only other top-six finish placing sixth in the 1,600 meters (4:38.9).

At the recent Center State Conference bowling tournament, Sherburne-Earlville finished second out of nine times compiling a 1,944 pin count, just behind champion Frankfort-Schuyler.
Mandi LaClair finished with a team-best 180 game, and LaClair was was awarded league honors for high game and series. LaClair also qualfied for the Section III sectional team to compete in the state tournament.
Team members this year were LaClair, Ruth Davis, Savanna Winton, Amanda White, Devi Wint, and Miranda Williams.
