NEW BERLIN – The Friends of the New Berlin Ambulance reported $4,265 in profit from a chicken dinner fundraiser Saturday.

The group said they sold out of 500 chicken halves with 411 pre-orders. Baked goods, buttons and desserts were also sold at the event, and a pancake breakfast was held in the morning. During the open house, people could also participate in a 50/50 raffle.

“The whole day went perfectly. We really appreciate the community support and the weather was perfect,” said Chief Operating Officer Kenneth Wiggins. “We’re just sorry we had to turn people away.”

An open house was also held in the morning which allowed people to see the ambulance, the fire station and get their blood pressure taken.
