Woodfords help Cornell women capture ECAC title
ITHACA – Cornell University freshmen, Katie and Emily Woodford (Oxford, Oxford Academy, 2011) helped the Big Red become the first Ivy League school to capture the women’s ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Cornell, competing at home at Barton Hall, came from behind to score a program-best 55 points edging runner-up Maryland-Eastern Shore by one point.
Emily Woodford ran the 400-meter leg in the third-place distance medley (4,000 meters) that time an 11:40.25. Katie Woodford ran the anchor leg on the third-place 1,600-meter relay. Katie Woodford ran her team’s best split, 55.1 seconds, as the Little Red recorded a season-best 3:44.25.
