Y CBL leader Blueox rolls past Pro Tel
NORWICH – YMCA Men’s Corporate Basketball League leader, Blueox Energy Products, coasted to an 89-69 victory over Pro Tel Monday night in the final week of regular season games.
Brian Collier led his club to a 45-33 lead at the break scoring 18 of his team-high 22 points.
Pro Tel closed the Blueox lead under 10 points just one time when Nate Ford drove for a layup with 15 1/2 minutes remaining in the second half to make it a 61-52. Blueox responded by outscoring Pro Tel 20-10 over the next 12 minutes with Amos Parry’s layup giving Blueox its biggest lead, 83-62.
Zach Williams and Parry had 11 points each in the second half, and finished with 19 and 15 points respectively. Robert Martin added 14 points in the win.
Garrett Porack scored 24 to pace Pro Tel, who will meet Enlightened Dentistry next week in the first round of playoff action. Tom Gould chipped in with 17 points, and Jeff Champlin added 10.

Chobani Yogurt avenged a loss to Pennysaver/Manpower from earlier this season rallying for a double overtime victory in Monday’s nightcap
Manpower/Pennysaver failed to extend its lead beyond three points in the first overtime, missing the front end of two one-and-ones allowing Chobani to set up for the tying shot. Neil Darragh canned a trey with 16.6 seconds left knotting the game at 57-57 to force a second extra period.
Two free throws from Andrew Ross and a layup from Andre Bryant moved the lead to four points early in the second extra period as Chobani held on for the win.
Darragh scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures. Ross scored 16, Kamil Alexander had 15 points to go with 10 blocked shots, and Bryant added 12.
Mike Genute paced Pennysaver/Manpower with 22, Josh Foulds netted 16, and Will Joslyn tickled twine for 11.
The two clubs will meet for the third time this season next week in the first round of playoff competition.
